History

Amature Era
Sabah FA was founded in the year 1977.During that time, Sabah was categoried as one of the fearless team where they are James Wong, Hassan Sani and Goalkeeper, Peter Rajah and in 1991 ,Matlan Marjan who scored a double against England. The state team having a large win where they destroyed a 6-1 win over Terengganu FA, crushing 11-0 over Perak FA and the 6-0 breaking of Sarawak FA.Sabah stood as Runners up behind Singapore FA.

2011 Malaysia Super League

In 2011, Sabah was nearly relegated to the Malaysia Premier League because of Gary Phillips of his controviesial while making a training for the team. Then later, Gary Phillips was sacked by SAFA's team manager,Musa Aman. Also the chief minister of Sabah.Gary was being replaced by Justin Ganai to save Sabah from the relegation to the Premier League. Sabah is currently playing in the 2012 Malaysia Super League.

Stadium

Sabah's current home stadium is the Likas Stadium in Kota Kinabalu.The Tawau Sports Complex is only be used when the Likas Stadium is under repair or else.
